Ben Perowsky
Perowsky’s notable career has placed him among a small vanguard of players able to move between jazz, experimental music and cutting edge pop and rock. He cut his teeth as a youth playing drums for the likes of Rickie Lee Jones, John Cale, Roy Ayers, James Moody, Bob Berg and Mike Stern. Ben broke ground driving back beats for NY bands Elysian Fields and Joan as Policewoman as well as John Lurie’s Lounge Lizards.
He co-founded the electric jazz group Lost Tribe and has continued to record and perform with pop and jazz legends such as John Scofield, Belle and Sebastian, John Zorn, Dave Douglas, Lou Reed, Pat Martino, Tegan and Sara, Uri Caine, Walter Becker, Loudon, Martha and Rufus Wainwright. Ben has produced eight critically acclaimed records to date. He currently plays in RedCred with John Medeski and Chris Speed, and is also the drummer/percussionist for the critically acclaimed musical by Anaïs Mitchell, “Hadestown”

CONNECTIONS:
Ever since Perowsky, Saft and Jones held down regular nights at the old Knitting Factory Tap Bar in the 1990’s, their musical friendships have intertwined across a variety of groups. Jamie and Ben played together in the band Elysian Fields, numerous John Zorn gigs and on Jamie’s trio releases for Tzadik. Brad and Ben have backed up numerous artists since, and are currently playing together with The Jazz Passengers and songstress Nabiyah Be.

Jamie Saft
Saft's stylistic versatility, multi-instrumentalist capabilities, and production skills have been heard in the music of the Beastie Boys, Bad Brains, the B-52's, Laurie Anderson, Bobby Previte, John Zorn, Dave Douglas, Jerry Granelli, Holly Palmer, Marc Ribot's Los Cubanos Postisos, Elysian, Fields, Black Beatle, Antony and the Johnsons, Chocolate Genius, JoJo, Mayer's Nerve, E-Z Pour Spout, Cuong Vu, Chris Speed Trio Iffy and the Groove Collective.
Saft has also written several original film scores including Murderball and God Grew Tired of Us. Jamie's projects have included the Jamie Saft Trio with Ben Perowsky and Greg Cohen, the New Zion Trio with Larry Grenadier and Craig Santiago, and The New Standard with Steve Swallow and Bobby Previte.
Brad Jones
Bassist, composer, and educator, Brad Jones has recorded, performed, and toured around the world with a diverse array of artists that include Ornette Coleman, Elvis Costello, Elvin Jones, David Byrne, Muhal Richard Abrams, Sheryl Crow, Cassandra Wilson, Dave Douglas, Vernon Reid, John Zorn, Don Byron, Marc Ribot, and The Jazz Passengers.
Jones has released four recordings under his own leadership with three separate projects:
“UNCIVILIZED POISE” and “THE EMBODIMENT” with his band Aka Alias,
“POURING MY HEART IN” with the Brad Jones Quartet, and his latest entitled “AVANT LOUNGE” with his project of the same name.
An experienced educator, Brad has taught workshops and master classes in France, Italy, Canada, and Mexico and is part of the music faculty at Columbia University in New York City.
