KJ defines herself as an “urban folk and jazz” artist, often stepping outside of that box to explore other influences. Her fine songwriting stands out in front at every performance, along with her smoky rich alto and stellar guitar playing. Multiple award-winner, Denhert, is powerful in voice, with lyrics full of intelligent insight, and her musicianship is impeccable. KJ's release, "Destiny" (2014) comprises an enormous variety of musical and performance styles, tied together by her singular personality and straight forward lyrics brimming with honesty. Denhert has received three nominations by the 14th Annual Independent Music Awards (IMAs). Her song “Sorry” is in the “Best Blues Song” category, and “Beautiful” in the category of “Jazz with Vocals.” The album DESTINY is nominated in the category, BEST ADULT CONTEMPORARY ALBUM.
