Safe Harbors Lobby at the Ritz welcomes award-winning pianist, Neil Alexander with his group NAIL – celebrating the Winter Solstice with a music offering, on the evening of Saturday, December 17, at 7:30 p.m.

With reverence for the seasonal traditions of giving, concert attendees are encouraged to bring canned and non-perishable food donations for the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.

Tickets are $15 – available online and at the door. Guests donating a minimum of 3 separate food items will receive a $5 discount for tickets sold at the door only.

The Winter Solstice was perhaps the most important date on many ancient calendars. Prehistoric monuments like Stonehenge and Newgrange (in Ireland) indicate the day with remarkable precision. The December solstice, in the Northern Hemisphere, is a time when we welcome the return of longer daylight, look forward to the renewal of spring, and celebrate family and neighbors with sharing and coming together. Neil Alexander and his group NAIL plan an evening of original music and jazz masterpieces within his Newburgh neighborhood, exploring deep grooves, majestic soundscapes, and infusing it all with a spiritually themed positive message. NAIL features outstanding musicians Todd Isler (drums & percussion), Brian Mooney (bass) and Premik Russel Tubbs (saxophones), along with special guests (TBA).
