Emmy nominated pianist Steve Sandberg will perform with his classical and world music quartet, Alaya, drawing on the European, African, Latin, Balkan and Indian music traditions. Steve is an eclectic musician with experience in many worlds of music and has toured with David Byrne, Bebel Gilberto, Ruben Blades, among others. His group, Alaya, includes: Rob Thomas who has been heralded a pre-eminent improvising violinist; Mauricio Zottarelli, an award-winning drummer who has recorded and shared the stage with Esperanza Spalding, Hiromi, Eliane Elias, Marc Johnson, Richard Bona among others; bassist Evan Gregor who recently been touring with Grammy Award winning vocalist Patti Austin; and special guest, Premik, an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist who has worked with music greats Carlos Santana, Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock, and Jackson Brown.
